Pic of Younger Me

This is a visa pic of me when I was younger. Even then, I was nearly too old to do solo exploratory travel.

I am getting rid of photos, and thought to publish
this one once before I disappeared all copies.

Me, My Life, and I

Wouldn't it take a thousand lifetimes to tell fully the life of one woman or one man?
The story of a man might be: he was born, he lived, he died.
What happened while he lived? All of it; everything.
In this second, what are you doing? What's happening within you? What's happening around you? What are you feeling? A lot, right?

I am much like every man, much like you.
One has asked me to tell about myself. What would he have me say? Whatever I say I must condense, symbolize, imply.
With what criteria would I choose an example for him? If he were truly interested wouldn't he dialogue with me so long as that interest persisted?

I shall try an honest shorthand description of my life and I:
~ I look and listen.
~ I explore.
~ I read.
~ I practice.
~ I share, experience, strength, and hope.
~ I have discovered, happenings, ways, means, functionings, structures, orders, doings.
~ I have developed skill.
~ I have loved more than I have hated.
~ I am mostly happy and grateful.

There, you have a telling of my life.

Roast Beef

I was telling them that I use to have the problem of cooking a five pound roast and then sitting down and eating the entire roast. They asked me if I still had the problem and when I said, "No." they ask me how I took care oft it. I told them that now I buy three pound roasts.

I happened to be reminded of this tonight because after dinned I cooked a three pound roast.

What Were They Thinking

I was siting at the table close to the glass door leading to the patio, breaking my fast on a nice potato and egg thing I make in the microwave, when two young, but full-grown, bushy tailed, grey ground squirrels came into the patio.

In turn, each came up to the glass door, stood on its hind legs, looked me in the eye, and then headed into the canopy of my little patio tree. They rustled around a bit there and then one left. I came to the computer to type this.

A for Anthropology

I recently completed an undergraduate Archaeology class which I mistook for an Anthropology class.

Got an 'A' even though my final paper was disorganized, slow to get to the point, had sub-standard sentential structure, and was poorly punctuated.(Thank programmers for 'spell-check.')Other than that, my citations and references were poorly handled. On the positive side it was 'interesting,' ,thoughtful,' and not plagiarized, but it was really disorganized.

I enjoyed getting a feel for advances in our understanding of pre-history in this class. I was so pleased that I may take a history class next semester.

Mostly Me

Seems that when I am Ill my thoughts are of Me.
Rex did some investigation by contacting Yahoo about strange messasges emanating from my email accounts.
It seems a Russian outfit is running the scam and that it hasn`t gon beyond what we have experienced. The bad part for me has been that they left me with no email address book.

Lack of time and energy have kept me keeping up with Brookings Institute or Berkely On Line news. I don`t look at Internatiional Liviing or Heritage newsletters.

I`m in the little hotel Villa Nova on the Tomebamba river. It`s a great location, but I have no window. The river has very nice walks on either side. Allong one of those paths I can walk to medical and health facilities one might find in a lagre part of downtown Houston.

The World Was Wrong

I was feeling proud of my skills of discernment, intention, and awareness. And, at the same time, wondering at my feelings of unhappiness in recent days.

I am used to a fair amount of happiness and a lot of cheerfulness in my days, but for a time it just wasn't there.

I now suspect I was making myself feel impotent by noting that things were not just as I felt they should be, and doing a lot of interior grunting and groaning in wasted attempts to get  American citizens to act as I felt they should. Even American medical professionals, who should know better, were not acting as I thought they should. The world was wrong.
Worse, it was ignoring my attempts to right it!
