Every Bit Helps
According to certain respected sociologists, persons active in an organized religion are a bit better than the average person in the general population in two ways: there is a bit less criminal behavior among them, and they are a bit happier.

Love God
Most gods seem to agree that most love is good.
What most gods ask of us seems to be for our own good.
One of the things men say that gods ask of us is love.
Many say that a god considers love to be higher and easier than is is fairness and justice.
At least one god is said to have explained to us that to love is to find joy in nurturing one another.
For those who find it difficult to nurture and enjoy a number of other behaviors which approximate love are suggested. For example, we are told to avoid killing and greed.
Christians who cannot love are told that following the Ten Commandments has been a useful approximation
