Georgians age the people of the great cross-roads state of the Caucus.

Ask them who Karles' great great grandfather was.

They are a people who worked gold and other metals from  very early times.

If the Kaukasos did not hold up the earth, perhaps they did hold back the great waters.

Were Georgians  Iberians before the Spaniards and Portuguese?

North America

Some years ago my old friend, Dr. Dennis, loaned me a book. I haven't returned it, but I have finally read it. Joel Garreau wrote it. It was published in 1981 under the name The Nine Nations of North America.  Garreau makes the argument that the people of North America have a growing consciousness that they are as much of a part of one or another of his 'Nine Nations' as they are of a given state or country.

You might find it instructive to take a look  at his map and list of 'nations.' You might even find some pleasure or food for thought in reading this work by Garreau.

He placed the following quote early in the book too:

- A nation is the desire of a great many individuals

    to do great things together. -

States and countries still matter a great deal, but the times they are a changin'.

I see that many people have a growing sense of Garreau's Nine Nations even though he noted them before our present consciousness of the www. For example statements of his like, "Vancouver shares far more with Seattle than it does with Halifax, Nova Scotia." rings true, as  does "And the proud but poor Maritimes are in the same boat as New England."

Right now we spend more money on war than anyone on earth has ever spent.


We spend more on war than any other country.


We spend more on war than the next 7 top war spenders combined.


The only people on earth who spend more for war per person than do the citizens of the US are the people of the U.A.E.


Let us remember that a principle purpose of war is to kill people.

My Memory is Growing Dim

I was thinking of the railways, the railroad, rolling-stock. I was trying to remember things; perhaps I never Knew. I know that for a time I was a brakeman for the SP. Please help me.

Who owns the cross country railways? Who owned the land into which the golden spike was driven? I thought it belonged to us, the people. I thought 99 year leases long, but not a transfer of ownership? Didn't honest Abe start the railroads with the people's money? Do I have it all wrong?

Have You Noticed

Have you noticed that when we invade  and occupy another peoples' home territory they tend to be more willing to shoot us or blow us up. Some of them are willing to shoot us or blow us up when we just move in our troops and let them set in their country. (Some setting troops are likely to get into a little trouble after a couple of years. Saudis for example get touchy when you rape their sisters or daughters, even when doing so is not standard operating procedure) When we left troops in Saudi Arabia is when Saudis blew up people in NY. Do you remember what the Sunnis did when we entered their territory at the point of guns? Do you see how the Pashtun are reacting as we move into their territory with our guns out?
