Love

I would remember the love and let the rest go.

Toward that end I would be aware of who I love, how I love, why I love, and that I am shaped by love.

Abundant Life (IMHO of this day)

Ignorance is the way of want. Ignorance of the practice of equality, justice, respect, honor, and love pave a speedy road to want. Want is lack.

Ignorance is the way to degeneration and strife. What is a way to abundant life?

The understanding and and practice of love moves one to abundant life very well. Love is a good way. How is love understood? How is love practiced? It's a process. One could begin by getting clear about some meanings. Improve and extend your understanding of equality, justice, respect, and honor among men. Understanding the the interactions among the practice of law, justice, and equality as components of love helps. Knowing that love includes the best of respect and honor helps. Knowing that the heart of love is joyous nurturance is necessary. Learning that respectful, even reverent, nurturance makes love real, is vital.

A reader of the Bible may find help in getting on this road by noting that Jesus said that his purpose was to bring us abundant life. And then by going on to study the page or two of teachings after he says to love your God. There he points to the nature of love, He points to the knowledge and practice of love. He points to the process of learning to love. He tells the essentials and extent of doing it well. The readers must study, contemplate, and meditate well on his parables and examples. H makes it easy to begin.

A Christian is Good

Being a true Christian begins with love.

Being a true Christian continues with learning more of love.

A true Christian comes to know that this love, which has come to be called Christian love, is more.

He knows that the love he is charged to learn contains, but is more than:
~ admiration and benevolence,
~ unselfish acceptance of one's humanity and the seeking of that one's welfare,
~ cherishing,
~ man's adoration of God,
~ strong desire, prise, trust, belief,
~ perhaps even more than the fatherly concern of God for man.
~ motherly, sisterly, brotherly, fatherly.

He finds learning this lesson of love a difficult one, but not a complicated one.

He learns that he is apply this love to:
~ one and all,
~ his neighbor,
~ his self.

He applies his life to learning to:
a) love himself and to how he loves himself,
b) love his neighbor and who Jesus Christ includes as a neighbor,
c) love All and One and One and All.

Love God

Most gods seem to agree that most love is good.

What most gods ask of us seems to be for our own good.

One of the things men say that gods ask of us is love.

Many say that a god considers love to be higher and easier than is is fairness and justice.

At least one god is said to have explained to us that to love is to find joy in nurturing one another.

For those who find it difficult to nurture and enjoy a number of other behaviors which approximate love are suggested. For example, we are told to avoid killing and greed.

Christians who cannot love are told that following the Ten Commandments has been a useful approximation

Assumptions? continued

Earlier I began to look at my budding understanding of the nature of our assumptions. Below I continue to bud without flowering. I continue in the expectation of sweet fruit.

I believe that I have an assumption of which I am unaware. I believe that I have adopted an assumption without realizing that I had done so. I suspect that you and I have assumptions that neither of us are aware of. I feel certain that you have an assumption that I am unaware of. How might the state of our knowledge of our assumptions effect our understanding? How might it effect the quality of our communication? I remember hearing one person say to another, "I don't get where you're coming from." I now understand the person was probably indicating that he didn't know the other person's assumptions and so could not put his opinions into perspective.

Even though I am pretty sure that there are assumptions of which I am unaware, the fact is that I am also pretty sure that I am well aware of many of my own assumptions and some of yours too. That awareness of assumptions helps(allows us)to communicate. The greater our awareness of each others awareness the better we can communicate. It also helps me when I am aware of my own assumption.

I remember my elders saying, "Define your terms." Defining terms doesn't exactly get a a person's assumptions, but it seems to be a move in that direction.

A friend of mine was having a relationship problem. In a discussion his significant other had several times said that she thought that he did not love her. Finally she said to him that he did not know what what love was. So, he asked her what she meant by love. Then she asked him what he meant by love. Their discussion about the meaning of 'love' lasted, on and off, for a couple of days. In those two days they came to understand and respect each other more that they ever had. It looked like love. They were lucky. Maybe they knew something about 'fair fighting.' I think that they probably uncovered an assumption or two.

An assumption is a bit like underwear.  Putting on your underwear may be called assuming your underwear. After you putting them on you usually give them little thought.  You probably don't typically spend much time thinking about the underwear of other people. Without thinking much about it, you might suppose that theirs is much like yours. That may, or may not, be the fact. You could be making an unconscious mistake. That mistake could lead to future difficulty. It is possible to make an unconscious assumption and then to act a though it were a fact.

You'd think that the world was complicated enough without assumptions. But aren't you glad that the cook from whom you order a cheeseburger doesn't assume that you want cheese ground up to look like burger?
His assumptions about the nature of a cheeseburger may not be exactly like yours, but they are often good enough. Thank goodness that we do clarify some of our assumptions

School of the Natural Order - Official Site

School of the Natural Order - Official Site

Vitvan is dead, but his teachings are not.

His writings are for a student; they are not easy.

There are understding people at Home Farm who can empathise with a with a student.

There are people who support the daily birth of the School of the Natural Order.

I feel a joyous gratitude for the teachings, the student, and the people who understand and support.

What' it all about? Everything.

Does it help to know that the learning is often about a process of love and reality.

Love

'Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.'

'Romance, sex, procreation is what love is about.'

'How does Jesus love wet kissing?'

'Love is about joy and nurturance, not romance.'

'Are you talkin' about all kinds of lovin'?'

'Do you mean strong desire, greed, lust, and passion?'

What do you find pleasing in love?
What do you find praiseworthy in love?
What do you find most pleasing in love?
What do you find most praiseworthy in love?

Love is an action word.
What form does your loving take?
How do you do love?
