Cholla
Wrinkled inhabitant of the desert may shake their heads and whisper startling exaggerations when you ask questions about the jumping cactus. However, it does seem to jump when stirred by the swish of a pant leg or coat sleeve.

Phonograph Needles?
The little lizard has heard it said that a kind of prickly Pear cactus was cut to size, shaped, polished, and sold as phonograph Needles. Ive used a cholla spine for the same thing without much cutting, shaping, and polishing.
