Little House in JT Village

Remembering to stop and enjoy I see: that my trees are gracefully thriving, that the tissue papery, poppy-like, flowers still bloom near the mail box when watered; that the handsome, nearly white desert iguanas are still around,if less trustingly so than those at Camp Thunderbird; and that little yellow flowers still bloom among the verbena in my patio. The verbena give off a delicate perfume which seems to be as attractive to the little wild bees as it is to me.

Warm Desert Life

The desert is warming. Verbena and other herbaceous plants are still blooming. Cactus is showing hints of the intention of flowering. The cotton-tail and ground squirrel have gotten fat. Dove have built their careless nests and perhaps have already lost their first offspring of the year. The cactus wren are building their well conceived nests.

Wild Flowers

There have been so may wild flowers around my yard for so long that I am beginning to feel that the way of the world is to be always surrounded by beautiful flowers.


There are also cottontail rabbits, desert iguanas, cactus wren, chipmunks, bushy-tailed, grey ground squirrel, and dove in my tiny yard. 
A number of other birds visit from time time, including great ravens.
