7% of the Senate

Did only seven of our Senators voted for the Constitution  and a government of the people, by the people and for the people? Will they go the way of Kennedy?

Are only 3 Republicans, 3 Democrats, and 1 Independent for an America of free citizens?

Let's thank the citizens of Kentucky, Oregon, Vermont, Oklahoma, Iowa, Utah for their wise votes.

Let's protect and support these heroes of the Republic:
 R. Paul
Merkley
Wyden
B. Sanders
Coburn
Harkin
Lee

How much of our military has become the servants of those who would be our masters?

More Will Rogers Quotes

Mostly about our government:
~ I like to make jokes and kid about the Senators. They are a never ending source of amusement, amazement, and discouragement. But the rascals, when you meet 'em They are mighty nice fellows. It must be something in the office that makes them so ornery sometimes. What you see what they do official, you want to shoot 'em. But when he looks at you and grins so innocently, you kinder want to kiss him.

(Remember, he was writing this stuff in the late 20s and early 30s)

~ Shrewdness in public life all over the world is always honored, while honesty in public men is generally attributed to dumbness and seldom rewarded.

~ The Democrats are having a lot of fun exposing the Republican campaign corruption, but they would have a lot more fun if they knew where they could lay their hands on some of it themselves for next November.

~ So much money is being spent on the campaigns that I doubt if either man, as good as they are, are worth what it will cost to elect them.

~ There is one rule that works in every calamity. Be it pestilence, war, or famine. the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The poor even help arrange it.

~ Big business don't go broke any more. The minute it looks bad for them, they combine with something else and issue more stock.

~ This open-door stuff is a lot of hooey, any door is only open to those that have the best product at the cheapest money.

"Book" Learning

I believe, given appropriate cooperation and understanding, that teachers perpetuate a nation and make it thrive. Parents, with the cooperation of other citizens must organize to create and maintain the kinds of schools teachers need to do their job. Students, teachers, and the nation need schools that adequately transmit the literate national language and culture. With out the sustaining organization of parents, teachers, and other concerned citizens, the unity and effectiveness of the nation declines.

A large percentage of the literate culture of the US is undisputed so we can find it easy to agree to continue to teach it. About 80% of it has been in use for over a hundred years.

Such undisputed literate culture is what allows us to communicate among ourselves effectively. It allows grandparents to communicate with grand children, Southerners with Midwesterners, Asians  with 'Blacks', 'Whites' with 'Hispanics, Republicans with Democrats. We can communicate with strangers taught a common literate culture.

Resposible Employers

We have too many irresponsible employers.
Too many employers employ too many illegal aliens. We need to hold those employers responsible for the act of employing illegal aliens. We need to provide them with help in identifying legal immigrants and citizens to employ rather than cooperating with people who are here illegally. Those irresponsible employers are corrupting the labor market.

I am pleased to see Republican and Democratic representatives ready to hold those employers of illegal aliens resposible to the law and to our law abiding citizens. Those representatives understand that illegal employers are inviting illegal aliens into our country to take our jobs. Stop the scoff-laws.

Populism

Populism may have been started by Republicans, but the Democrats gave it more votes.

Jobs: How long shall we wait?

How long shall we wait for the few to make jobs for the many? We are democrats; the many can put many to work.
