"Book" Learning

I believe, given appropriate cooperation and understanding, that teachers perpetuate a nation and make it thrive. Parents, with the cooperation of other citizens must organize to create and maintain the kinds of schools teachers need to do their job. Students, teachers, and the nation need schools that adequately transmit the literate national language and culture. With out the sustaining organization of parents, teachers, and other concerned citizens, the unity and effectiveness of the nation declines.

A large percentage of the literate culture of the US is undisputed so we can find it easy to agree to continue to teach it. About 80% of it has been in use for over a hundred years.

Such undisputed literate culture is what allows us to communicate among ourselves effectively. It allows grandparents to communicate with grand children, Southerners with Midwesterners, Asians  with 'Blacks', 'Whites' with 'Hispanics, Republicans with Democrats. We can communicate with strangers taught a common literate culture.
