Arabic scholarship understood the teachings of Greeks, Persians, Jews, Egyptians and others. Much of that scholarship was collected at their libraries in Toledo and other parts of Spain.
Translations of their works opened doors of enlightenment all over Europe. Much of the best translation of those scientific works was done by Gerard of Cremona.
