Lebanon

Lebanon is an an example of modern cultural diversity. Three languages widely spoken there are Arabic, English, and French.
Widely practiced religions there now include: Sunni, Shiia, Druze, Maronite, Eastern Orthodox. Before certain recent actions of outsiders, the atmosphere of its beautiful and cosmopolitan capital had been favorably compared to Paris.

The people of Lebanon, in their long history, have known Mameluke, Ottoman, Roman, Byzantine, Phoenicians, and others. The name Lebanon has been known in its various forms for over 4000 years.

The Lebanese people have long stood at the cross roads of Asia, Africa, and Europe, and they stand there now. They have made long standing contributions to world culture and enlightenment.
